Copal

Copal is a resin extracted from trees of the genus Bursera, native to Mesoamerica. The Maya and Aztecs considered it sacred—they called it the blood of trees—and burned it in temples and ceremonies as an offering to the gods and to purify spaces.

That tradition remains alive today: copal continues to be used in cleansings, Day of the Dead altars, and healing rituals throughout Mexico. This incense recreates its resinous and smoky aroma, one of the fragrances with the most roots and history in our store.
